Collaboration: We achieve our mission and inspire communities through teamwork with people living with or are at risk of disabilities; families; volunteer community members; our employees and other professional partners.
Our organization: Is committed to provide support for community development and exchange information and ideas that empower and impact our community by being open and honest. We foster an accessible environment in which respectful communication and the exchange of all ideas can occur.
Neighborhood Block Club Organization: We will foster and promote a clean, safe environment for the residents of The Neighborhood Block Club Organization and join with other Neighborhood Block Organizations to provide support for community development and exchange information, concerns and ideas that impact our community.
College Education Scholarship Fund: We are committed to providing assorted scholarships to both high school and elementary school graduates. Currently, our 2012 – 2020 scholarship plan is on track. This year, upon their graduation, we were able to assist various high school seniors with their post-secondary education by presenting college financial assistance as well as student study Bibles. Our Youth and Young Adult Group will be sending care packages to our college students for “finals week” in order to help relieve the stress of exam time. Our College Student Donation Drive, containing various items for care packages, is ongoing throughout the year.
Excellence: We maintain a disciplined and results-oriented organization. We operate within the highest ethical standards in all our working and business relationships and practices.
Person Centered: We affirm the incredible capacity and contribution of all people and treat everyone with dignity and respect. We promote self-advocacy as well as advocate for full human rights and participation in the community. We offer education and support, so that all are able to make informed choices. We value working together, using our diverse talents and experiences to support individuals in leading a self-directed and full life.
To Provide and Assist: We are committed to providing an array of services and support for people faced with disabilities and related challenges to live, learn, work and play in the community. In addition, we strive to assist people in need of clothing and food via our Outreach program throughout the Chicagoland area. Since its inception, both our Thanksgiving Food & Clothing Distribution Drive and our Feeding of the Hungry Ministry have reached out and touched the lives of those in need. We further provide unparalleled leadership throughout our dedicated mission commitment of serving individuals with disabilities.
